Trading stats calculator
Paste one trade P&L per line to get your expectancy, win rate, profit factor, max drawdown and more in one place. Everything is calculated on this device, and your trades are never uploaded.
New to this?
You getExpectancy (average P&L per trade), win rate, profit factor, max drawdown, and longest winning and losing streaks
What to enter, and the terms used
You enterYour P&L list (one trade per line), the order, and which numbers make up the P&L. Optionally a starting balance and 1R
New to these words?
Example: enter this, get this
- Account currency: USD, order: oldest first, numbers: last number only
- P&L list: 120, −80, −50, 230 … 12 trades (5 wins, 7 losses)
- No starting balance or 1R
Total P&L is wins 770 − losses 495 = 275. Divided by 12 trades, expectancy is about $22.92. Win rate is 5 ÷ 12 = 41.7%, profit factor is 770 ÷ 495 = about 1.56, and max drawdown is $130 (the running total fell from 120 to −10). With this few trades the numbers swing a lot. They summarize the past and do not predict future results.
The example numbers only show how the calculation works. They are not recommendations. Replace them with your own account’s numbers, or use “Clear inputs”.Where do I find these numbers?
- P&L list
- On a computer, the Account History tab of the MT4 Terminal, or the History tab of the MT5 Toolbox. In MT5, switch History to the Positions view before copying
- Commission and swap
- The Commission and Swap columns in the same history. Add them with “Which numbers make up the P&L”
The mobile app and platforms other than MT4/MT5 may use different names or places (for example, “Units” or “Lot size” for contract size). If you cannot find a number, check your broker’s help pages.
How it works
- Expectancy = total P&L ÷ number of trades. It is the average of past trades, not a forecast. If you enter 1R, it is also shown as expectancy ÷ 1R.
- Win rate = wins ÷ all trades (trades with zero P&L count in the total).
- Profit factor = total of wins ÷ total of losses (losses taken as positive numbers).
- Max drawdown = the largest fall of the running total from its highest point so far. It uses closed trades only, so floating losses while a trade is open are not included. Enter a starting balance to also see the largest percentage fall from a peak (it can be a different fall from the largest one in money).
- Winning and losing streaks are broken by a trade with zero P&L.
- The last number on each line is read as the P&L (dates and times are not counted). If you choose “Add the last 3”, the last three numbers on the line are added together.
- Lines with words such as balance, deposit or withdrawal (in major languages) are not trades, so they are skipped.
FAQ
Are my trades uploaded anywhere?
No. The math runs inside this page on your device, and your trades are never sent or saved. Close the page and they are gone.
Do these numbers tell me if my strategy is good?
This tool does not judge that. The numbers summarize past trades and do not promise future results. With few trades they can swing a lot.
Is this the same as a prop firm’s max loss?
No. Max drawdown here uses closed trades only. Most prop firms measure daily and maximum loss on equity, which includes floating losses. Check your firm’s rules and dashboard.
How do I paste my MT4/MT5 history?
The most reliable way is to export your history from MT4/MT5 on a computer to a spreadsheet and copy just the profit column. You can also paste whole rows: the last number on each line is read as the P&L. If commission and swap are in their own columns, choose how many numbers to add, and if the newest trade is at the top, change the order. The MT4/MT5 phone apps may not let you copy your history in bulk.
Which number formats can it read?
It reads 1,200, 1.200,50, 1 200, 1’200, 1,00,000 and numbers with currency signs such as ¥ $ € ₩ R$. Numbers that could be read two ways (a list of only 1,200-style numbers, for example) may be misread. If the first three values look wrong, add decimals (1200.00) or paste numbers without separators.
Log how you felt, not just the numbers.
Tiltnote is a trading journal that keeps how you felt and whether you kept your rules on each trade, and adds up win rate and P&L by mood tag too. Add the EA to MT4/MT5 and closed trades are recorded automatically (paid plan).
