Daily trading tracker
After each trade, tap win, loss or break-even. You will see today’s number of trades, profit/loss and losing streak next to the limits you set. Set your limits in advance, while you are calm. Everything stays on this device, and a new day starts at the day-start time you set (midnight unless you change it).
New to this?
You getToday’s trades, P&L and losing streak, and how far you are from your own limits
What to enter, and the terms used
You enterOnce: your account currency and your own limits (trades, loss and losing streak per day). After each trade: the Win, Loss or Break-even button
New to these words?
Example: enter this, get this
- Account currency: USD
- Limits: 5 trades, a $100 loss and 3 losses in a row per day (all examples)
- Then tap a button after each trade (the example button does not add any trades)
Before you log anything, “Trades left before your limit” shows 5 and “Left before your loss limit” shows $100. If you then tap Loss twice with $25 each, today’s P&L is −$50, your losing streak is 2, 3 trades are left and $50 is left before your loss limit. One step before the trade or losing-streak limit, or at 80% of the loss limit, you see “getting close”.
The example numbers only show how the calculation works. They are not recommendations. Replace them with your own account’s numbers, or use “Clear inputs”.Where do I find these numbers?
- Trade P&L
- The Profit column in the Trade tab of the MT4 Terminal or MT5 Toolbox. After closing, in the Account History tab of the MT4 Terminal, or the History tab of the MT5 Toolbox
- Limits
- Your own rules. The daily loss limit calculator turns percentages into amounts
The mobile app and platforms other than MT4/MT5 may use different names or places (for example, “Units” or “Lot size” for contract size). If you cannot find a number, check your broker’s help pages.
How it works
- Each tap adds one entry to today’s log on this device. A new day starts at the time you pick.
- The current losing streak is the number of losses since your last win or break-even. Today’s loss is your total losses minus your total wins, shown only when the result is negative.
- Your day starts at the time you pick in your limits (by default, midnight on your device’s clock). If you trade across midnight, pick a time before your session starts so one session is not split into two days.
- For trades and losing streaks, you see “getting close” one step before your limit (at 2 losses in a row if your limit is 3); for the loss amount, at 80% of your limit. At the limit, you see “reached”, in words. Your current status also shows right under the buttons.
FAQ
Where is my log saved?
Only in this device’s browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data, or tapping “Clear log and inputs” twice, also clears the log.
What limits should I set?
This tool does not decide that. Set them as your own rules, while you are calm. The articles How to stop revenge trading and Losing streaks, in numbers may help.
I set limits, but I still can’t stop trading.
If you find it hard to stop, talking to someone you trust, or to a local support service for gambling or other addictions, can help.
