Your entries stay on this device only and will be here next time. You can use . or , for decimals. If a number has separators, we show how it was read below the field.

Example: enter this, get this

  1. Account currency: USD, balance: 10,000
  2. Daily limit: 3%, weekly: 6%, monthly: 10% (all examples)
  3. Risk per trade: 1%

The daily limit is 10,000 × 3% = $300. Weekly is $600 and monthly is $1,000. Risk per trade is 1% = $100, so 300 ÷ 100 = 3 losses reach the daily limit. The percentages are examples, not recommendations.

The example numbers only show how the calculation works. They are not recommendations. Replace them with your own account’s numbers, or use “Clear inputs”.

Where do I find these numbers?

Balance
In MT4, the Terminal window; in MT5, the Trade tab of the Toolbox, under “Balance”. In the mobile app, on the Trade screen
Risk per trade
Your own rule. The position size calculator finds the lot size that matches it
Prop firm limits
Your firm’s rules page. Check there how floating losses and the daily reset time are handled

The mobile app and platforms other than MT4/MT5 may use different names or places (for example, “Units” or “Lot size” for contract size). If you cannot find a number, check your broker’s help pages.

How it works

  1. Limit amount = balance × the percentage you set
  2. Losses to reach the daily limit = daily limit ÷ risk per trade (rounded up, counting the loss that reaches it)
  3. If you are matching a prop firm’s rules, always check their official calculation, such as how floating loss and the daily reset are handled.

FAQ

Does this tool tell me what limit to use?

No. It does not pick one. Enter the one from your own rules.

What happens when I reach the limit?

This tool only calculates. On Tiltnote’s paid plan, the EA logs it at 50% of a limit and alerts you at 80% and 100%. Whether to stop is your call.

Get warned as you near your limits.

On Tiltnote’s paid plan, the EA alerts you on your MT4/MT5 screen as you near your daily limit and your weekly or monthly limit (and on your phone, if you have set up MT4/MT5 push notifications). It never places trades for you.
